What Type/Brand of hair does The Hair & The Honey use?
There are many factors that add up to a good quality hair extension product and we have found Beauty Works and Remi Cachet are superior in all aspects. We purchase their top tier double drawn 100% Remy Russian human hair extensions so that every client enjoys their extension experience.
How long do hair extensions last?
Our hair extensions last around 9-12 months if you follow the advice we give you about maintaining hair extensions and you use the products that are best for maintaining hair extensions.
Do hair extensions hurt?
When hair extensions are first applied they may feel a little tight for the first few days but after a few days the hair extensions will not cause any discomfort.
How much are hair extensions?
Our hair extension prices range from $470 to $1000+ depending on how many extensions you need to achieve the look you desire. We are extremely well priced compared to some extension salons on the Gold Coast and Brisbane. The Hair and The Honey hair extensions are premium European hair, 100% human hair and double drawn.
What are the best clip in hair extensions?
Remi cachet provide us with the best clip in hair extensions! Our double clip-in set ( 6 piece set) is 200 grams of lush hair and our deluxe clip in set (3 piece set) which is perfect for our Finer hair clients as this set is 150 grams of hair. They are Super easy to apply and remove and these clip in hair extensions are extremely soft hair extensions.
How long does it take to get hair extensions?
Allow 1 hour for a full head of invisi tape hair extensions and 2 hours for micro beads or a beaded weft hair extensions.
Can I colour my hair whilst wearing the extensions?
Yes! Pretty much all colouring can still be done whilst wearing hair extensions.
Permanent tints can still be done to touch up your roots and of course all over semi colours.
If you are a foiled blonde, the only thing that you may choose to do is instead of having a full head of foils is just have a half head or hairline & part foils as the extensions will create the lightened coloured throughout the back for you. This means less risk of damage to your own hair through excessive colouring.
Can the extensions be coloured?
Hair extensions can be coloured with a Semi or Demi permanent colour only!
Do NOT try and lighten your extensions, bleaching the extensions will cause they to dry out completely and the hair will start to break off.
What's involved in getting Ombre hair extensions?
If you have an ombre or balayage colour we can custom colour our hair extensions to match your colour by colouring the tops of extensions with a semi permanent colour.
What does “Remy hair” mean?
Remy hair is specifically processed to ensure that the protective layer of the cuticles remain intact and are facing in the same direction from root to tip, ensuring natural shine and vitality allowing the hair to behave tangle-free throughout its lifetime.
Remy Human hair can last around 8 – 10 months depending on aftercare.
Can I tie my hair up whilst wearing extensions?
Definitely! When our stylist apply your extensions they make sure to apply the extensions away from your hairline making it easy to wear your hair up high without any extensions showing.
What length do your hair extensions come in?
All our hair extensions we stock in salon are 20inch long, once applied we cut them in to whatever length you are after, this length is what majority of our clients get as it is quite long!
If you would like longer extensions we can order in 22inch hair but we require you to come into the salon first for a free consultation/ colour match before we can order the hair in, the 22inch hair takes two weeks to arrive and there is an extra cost for this length.
What hair care should I be using when wearing extensions?
Never use any hair products that contain protein, sulfate or parabens on hair extensions, using products with sulphates and parabens can course the bonds of your extensions to break down not giving you longevity out of the extensions. If you were wearing tape extensions these ingredients can cause your extensions to slip out. Using protein on your extensions is a huge no!
Protein will make your extensions dry out and become a brittle knotted mess with in two uses.
In saying that we stock a few different ranges that are free from nasties that are perfectly suited to anyone wearing hair extensions.
Do we do eyelash extensions ?
This is a question we get asked often and No we don’t but we do highly recommend the girls at The Lash spa on the Gold coast for all things lash extensions, lash lifts and tints.
